The signing of MOU was done at the ACOM PHQ Conference room on Friday 13th February 2015 by the tribes’ representatives Michael Pupusa and Samson Chonia and the Diocesan Secretary of Guadalcanal Mr. Philip Kapini and the ACOM General Secretary Dr. Abraham Hauriasi and ACOM lands officer Mr. Simon Naotoro.
The MOU signifies the consent of the landowners for the Commissioner of Lands to transfer the title of the said land to the Church. This will done once all the formalities have been completed.
At the signing ceremony, Mr. Pupusa assured the Diocese of Guadalcanal and the Anglican Head Quarter that the land was given to the church with good heart.
“We have had talks amongst ourselves and decided that the land be developed by the church,” Mr. Pupusa said.
ACOM General Secretary Dr. Hauriasi thank Gaobata for their concern of the diocese and their willingness to allow the Commission of Lands to transfer the title of the land to the Church.
