We Are Praying For You: Archbishop Takeli

The Most Reverend George Takeli reminded Police officers at the Tulagi Police station,

in the Central Islands Province of Solomon Islands that they are not alone in their work. 

“We hide behind the scene praying for you each day as you carry out your daily duties in

bringing Peace, Safety, Security and sustainability in our Communities, Provinces and the

nation Solomon Islands”. the Archbishop said.

He went on further to say that “not only do you provide security, but also pastoral care in

a sense that you are physically involved in providing peace when someone fights”.

The Archbishop made the following statements when he visited the Diocese of Central

Solomons (DOCS), which was located in the Central Islands Province from the 15th to 17th September.

The Central Islands Provincial Police Commander, Mrs. Patricia Leta in her response acknowledges

the visit and reierated the very significant role churches play in supporting the work of the Police

especially during the recent ethnic crises.

“Working together with the Priests, Ministers and Pastors and through your prayers we do not have

too much difficulties in our operations”, Mrs. Leta said.

Before he prayed for the Police officers at the station, Archbishop Takeli again encouraged the

officers that Bishop’s, Minister and Pastors are praying for you each day so take courage and do

what your nation wants you to do. Your presence in our communities and societies bring hope to the

children, women and to the vulnerable in our communities”, Archbishop George concluded.
