Archbishop Leonard Visits Noumea Anglican Parish

In the midst of a busy sch attending the Pacific Conference of Churches General Assembly, the Most Reverend Leonard Dawea, Archbishop of the Anglican Church of Melanesia (ACOM) made a special visit to the small Anglican community in Noumea, leaving a lasting impression on the community members.

Despite the language barrier and the challenges posed by different political governance, Archbishop Leonard, known for his dedication to strengthening the Anglican Church, made it a priority to connect with this community during his visit to New Caledonia.

Mr. Colley Falasi, Chairman of the Noumea Anglican Parish, speaking on behalf of the community members, expressed their gratitude and acknowledged the significance of the Archbishop’s visit.

In his remarks, Mr. Colley also highlighted some of their needs that would help their community together.

He said having a centralized base and a full-time Parish priest stationed in Noumea, they believe would greatly contribute to the community’s growth and progress.

In this short visit, Archbishop Leonard also engaged with community members, listening to their concerns and aspirations. He emphasized the need for unity and mutual understanding among different Anglican communities, as well as the importance of working together to overcome obstacles.

The Archbishop’s visit left community members hopeful and inspired, instilling a renewed sense of purpose and determination. They now eagerly await the implementation of strategies discussed during the visit, as they seek to strengthen their connections with the wider Anglican Church in Melanesia.
