Anglican Church Of Melanesia Launches Official Website

THE Anglican Church of Melanesia (ACoM) launched its newly developed website at the Provincial Head Quarters in Honiara on Friday May 16.

The website was officially launched by the Archbishop of Melanesia the Most Reverend David Vunagi.

The General Secretary to the Anglican Church of Melanesia, Dr. Abraham Hauriasi in his short remarks said,” having our own website would make it easier for the Church to communicate with its members, to connect with our friends, families and church partners overseas and to provide resourceful information”.

Dr. Hauriasi said, “Through this website, church members, the general public and overseas partners would be informed on who we are as a Church, what we do, and what is happening with the various departments and institutions in the church of Melanesia”.

He urged all Dioceses, Church Ministries, Institutions, Projects and the Religious Orders to take up the responsibility in working together with the Church Communications office in providing up to date information for the Church members and the general public. He urged the Church activity centres to move away from the prevailing attitude of reluctance to let others know about what they have achieved or done.

Dr. Hauriasi reminded dioceses and institutions that letting others know about your achievements could be encouragement that may trigger others into action.

The website was developed by Oracles ICT & Legal Consultancy and is administered by the ACoM Communications Office.

Amongst others who witnessed the launching are friends and church partners at the Coventry University and Coventry Cathedral in UK.

The website is: www.acom.org.sb.
