DOCM MU Held Successful Conference

THE Mothers Union of the Diocese of Central Melanesia (DOCM) successfully ended their three (3) days conference held at the Christ the King Chapel yesterday afternoon.
The theme of the conference is, “Strengthening Christian Family Life”.
Thirty five (35) MU participants including three clergy men from the Parish and the DOCM MU Chaplain Rev. Fr. Ellison Koke attended the conference.
Two MU representatives from the Anglican community in Renbel are amongst other MU representatives who came from the six (6) parishes within DOCM.
The Diocesan MU conference was held after every three (3) years as they prepare for the Provincial Mothers Union Conference that will also take place later this year.
Amongst the issue discussed over the three days conference are: the issues relating to the work of the Mothers in the DOCM, the strategic plan of the Diocesan MU, Provincial MU resolutions, and reports from all Mothers union office in the Parish level. Most of all how best the ministry (MU) will be able to carry out her duties successfully and effectively in the parish level and to the Diocesan level.
Elections of new office bearers is also a major task carried out at the end of the conference.
The results are as follows: Mrs. Marylyn Chuchuni reelected MU President of DOCM, Mrs. Qwen Koke elected diocesan MU Vice President, Christina Lokumana elected MU Link Secretary and Rose Mutui elected MU Literature Coordinator of the Diocese of Central Melanesia.
The program ended with an Eucharist service and feasting.
