MBH Great Conference Starts Today

AN official welcome ceremony to the Melanesian Brotherhood ‘Brothers and Companions 13th Great Conference was held at the MBH headquarters, Tabalia, west of Guadalcanal on Friday 9th October.

The delegate comprises of the Regional Head brothers and other MBH Brothers and companion leaders from Vanuatu, Papua New Guinea as well as a three member delegate (Companions) came all the way from UK led by a former MBH Brother and chaplain to the community who is now a Priest, Rev. Richard Anthony Carter.

Four other delegates from the Philippines, MBH Companion from Australia Rev. Joseph Keith and Br. John Blythe from Canada are expected to arrive this weekend and Tuesday.

The delegates were escorted to the welcome arena by Hageulu Panpipe group with their melodious styles of music followed by garlanding of guests.

MBH Head brother, Br. Matthias Tovotasi welcomed the delegates to Tabalia, a home for this two week conference.

Rev. Richard Carter in his respond said, we are happy to be back to our home.

“This is our home and we are blessed and can feel something moved in us through the songs and your smiles, we are happy to be back to our home” he said.

The theme for the conference is: ‘Advancing MBH values for the mission today’.

According to the program, Workshops for Companions will run from Monday 12th to Wednesday 14th led by Rev. Richard Carter with other important talks from prominent church leaders and visiting Bishop from Palawan & Philippine Bp. Jovy Fodulla to be held at nights.  Review of MBH constitution on Thursday, workshop on the Importance of Leadership Management in the church today by ACoM General Secretary Dr. Abraham Hauriasi on Friday. Saturday will be the election and installation of new Head Brother, Assistant Head Brother and S.I Regional Head Brother. Monday 19th and Tuesday 20th would be Companions Conference and Brothers conference from Wednesday 21st to Friday 23rd.
