ACoM Bishops attend Bishops’ School

IT was often said that one does not undergo special training to become a bishop but once someone is elected and consecrated into that role, they will certainly need some coaching in order to effectively discharge their role as a diocesan bishop.

More than six thousand people living in and around Lata, the headquarter of Temotu Province, and hundreds from the nearby islands within Temotu Diocese of the Anglican Church of Melanesia came to witness the consecration and installation of the Reverend Father Leonard Dawea as the fifth bishop of the Diocese at the Holy Trinity Cathedral in Lata, Santa Cruz, on Sunday the 11th of September 2016.

The Community of the Melanesian Brotherhood has made a special welcome to the Bishop of the Diocese of Chester in the United Kingdom – the Right Reverend Dr. Peter Foster at Chester Rest House on Friday 9th September 2016.

New Leaders for CSM

THE Community of the Sisters of Melanesia (CSM), has today elected new Head Sister and Assistant Head Sister at Veranaso the headquarters of the CSM, west Guadalcanal on the 1st of September 2016.

The Anglican Church of Melanesia Provincial Disaster Committee on Tuesday handed over eight Water tanks to the Diocese of Central Melanesia (DOCM) disaster committee.

The Diocese of Temotu Electoral Board of the Anglican Church of Melanesia has today the 21st of June 2016 elected the Reverend Leonard Dawea as the fifth bishop for the Diocese of Temotu.

The meeting which was preceded by a retreat yesterday was held at Tabalia, the headquarters of the Melanesian Brotherhood, West of Honiara.

MORE than twenty Youth and Mothers Union leaders in the six parishes in the Diocese of Central Melanesia (DOCM) are currently attending a three day workshop on Gender Based Violence (GBV) held at the Diocesan Conference room in Honiara.
