THE women in the Anglican Church of Melanesia  (ACOM) are no strangers to peacemaking, be it at home in their own families,
in their communities or for some the experience of a life time during the Solomon Islands Ethnic Tension more than ten years ago.

EIGHT Novices (pictured) were the pioneers of the David Sale Section Headquarters in the Diocese of Guadalcanal.

They were admitted on 25th April by the Section Elder Brother Mark Tofodi and the Diocesan Bishop of the Diocese of Guadalcanal, the Right Reverend Nathan Tome.

MORE than fifty youth members from Tasimboko Ikombu District in the Diocese of Guadalcanal attended a week long rally held at the Society of Saint Francis Friary, Vuru west Guadalcanal.

The Youth rally began on Sunday 4th July with a colorful opening ceremony.

THE Diocese of Guadalcanal of the Anglican Church of Melanesia moved a step closer to securing  around twenty (20) hectares of land to build its Diocesan Headquarters. This followed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between representatives of the Church and chiefs representing the Ghaobata tribe.  The land is located within the Tenavatu area in the east of Honiara.

MBH opens new coconut crushing mill

THE Melanesian Brotherhood (MBH) of the Anglican Church of Melanesia now has a coconut crushing mill established at Tanaeba area just close to the MBH Headquarters at  Tabalia.

THE Archbishop of Melanesia, who is also the patron of the Mothers’ Union MU has urged the Mothers’ Union delegates to promote the place of women in the Church and Society.

The Most Rev’d David Vunagi made the statement at the official opening of this 13th Provincial Mothers Union General Conference at the Melanesia haus on Monday 25th August 2014.

CSC opens new Conference hall

As part of their preparations towards the coming General Chapter, The Community of the Sisters of the Church (CSC) on Thursday the 21st of August 2014 officially blessed and dedicated their newly built conference hall at Tetete Ni Kolivuti (TNK), east of Honiara.

St. Nicholas assist Guale Victims

An Anglican Church of Melanesia owned St. Nicholas School is one amongst others that have responded to the victims of Guadalcanal from the recent flood disaster. The assistance was channeled through the Diocese of Guadalcanal.
