Saint James Church Commemorate Patrons Day

St. JAMES Church in Burns Creek, a satellite church of Vura Transfiguration Parish commemorated their patron’s day, Saint James on Sunday.

The Holy Eucharist service brought together around one thousand church goers including nearby satellite churches namely, Soap area, High way and Mount Ararat all located eastern side of Honiara town.

In his message, the Most Rev. George Takeli, Archbishop of the Anglican Church of Melanesia (ACOM) who is also the Diocesan Bishop of the Diocese of Central Melanesia (DOCM) encourages those who attended the service to live the examples of this Godly man, St. James.

“Saint James has laid a fine example for us today which we should follow,” he said.

“He is one of the powerful disciples of Jesus who is always filled with the Holy spirit and has his hope and faith rooted in God,” the Archbishop added.

He urges the community at Burns creek to rise up in times of challenges and be a place of change and renewal for those who need Christ in their lives.

Archbishop Takeli also acknowledges and encourages sister churches in and around Burns Creek area to continue with their good work in helping our people residing there.

The program ended with entertainments and feasting.
