THE 14th day of May will not only be remembered as the feast of the Ascension of our Lord which was celebrated by Christians through the world.
This day will also be remembered by the six SSF Brothers namely; Amos, Gilford, Harry, Jonah, Hubert and Steve as they pronounce before God and the people their promises to live a simple profession brother in the religious life.
More than a hundred people turned up to witness the profession of the six brothers; these include members of religious orders, families, and relatives of the brothers, companions, friends and the Third Order brothers and sisters in the SSF.
The day’s activity began with Holy Eucharist service and the Profession of the brothers which lead by Rev. Br. Henry Clifton and Samson Siho, Minister Provincial of the SSF.
Rev. John Roroi, a Bachelor student from BPTC – Kohimarama who delivered the sermon challenged the brothers and the Christians to recognize the call of God as his true discipleship.
“Christ’s ascension today reminded us of the spiritual Christ who was connected to God in the form of the spirit, in order to bring us back to him, therefore we need to be like him, we need to be fill with the Ascension Christ, so that we may be effective in our missions and ministries;” he concluded.
Br. Sam Siho, thanked the families, relatives, friends and religious orders for working together in making the day joyful
